6 Places to Work and Study in Barcelona

We should surround ourselves with beauty, always and everywhere! It's what gives us strength, inspires us and fills our heads with fresh thoughts. Especially when it comes to work. We are already thinking about creating a cosy office for Amor Barcelona, but in the meantime we continue to explore the secluded places of the vast city of Barcelona. Here's a selection of places where our ideas are born and where it's so nice to create over a cup of coffee!

I love this place for its atmosphere, polite staff, good coffee and beautiful interior! In general, Casa Bonay is a four-star hotel. But its entire ground floor is a multifunctional space: there is a coffee shop, a small designer shop and a lobby with a bar counter, a relaxation area and a co-working space. The lighting, the furniture, the interior design, the fabrics - they all fit together perfectly to create a comfortable space. It fulfils two functions at once: it relaxes you and helps you concentrate. If you want to work, there is a comfortable table with power sockets, fast wifi and free water! If you want to take a break - choose a comfortable chair, your choice of tea and dessert and immerse yourself in the classics with Louis Armstrong or Billie Holiday.

It is a 3 minute walk from Plaça Catalunya. It's tasty, has lots of sunshine and good internet. It's nice to work on the computer after lunch when there aren't too many people around. The unobtrusive waiters have no problem letting you sit down to work without interrupting you every half hour to ask if you want to order something else. There are power sockets on the sofa by the entrance and on the side tables, which removes one of the occasional problems of working away from home. Another plus is that it is centrally located, so you can go shopping in your breaks or get lost in the streets of the Gothic Quarter.

A café in the Gracia neighbourhood with a lovely patio and a large communal table inside. People come here to read, work and drink real coffee. Special bonus for the free water and trouble-free internet. There is a difficulty on outlets (there are only a few). . But if you come before 10am, there will be no questions asked - take a seat near the charging station or on the patio. It's beautiful! Secluded, quite spacious and the sky above your head for a better connection with the universe :) The second nuance is the opening times. The café closes at 14:00.

One of my favourite places to think and work. I can't get enough of it! :) The dim lights, muted colours and even the temperature of the place help you focus on the here and now. Whether it's a plate of food or a screen. Fast wi-fi kills procrastination and keeps you from getting distracted. And if you do, the place has a good selection of simple vegetarian dishes, raw food desserts and simply gorgeous smoothies. I grab my favourite "Hulk", recharge my batteries with a vitamin bomb and my thoughts come together again, as they should! Oh, and the best thing about this place is that it is open from 8am to 10pm and not at weekends.

Located in the Left Eixample, on one of the trendiest streets, Enric Granados. It stands out because it is not just a bar with goodies, but an art gallery that hosts concerts, exhibitions, courses and other cultural and educational events. The space is quite large, with lots of tables and fun decorations. No wonder it's easy to come up with new ideas! The place is a favourite with local creeaters and hipsters. The only nuance is the lack of Wi-Fi. And this is not a fault of the creators, but of their philosophy. Cafe Cosmo's credo is "Enjoy yourself here and now".

A nice place in the city centre with a hipster vibe in a good way. Situated in a quiet street in the Gothic Quarter - a minute's walk from St James's Square, where the Catalan Government building and City Hall are located. The high ceiling makes the room feel quite spacious. There are not many seats, but that only makes it cozier. There is wi-fi and a mezzanine where you can have some privacy with your laptop. Open weekdays from 9am to 7pm and weekends from 10am to 7pm. The coffee is decent and there's a good selection of other drinks - beer, lemonades and teas. Water is chargeable and expensive.
