How to Get to Tibidabo in 40 min: the Fastest Way

Mount Tibidabo is the highest point in Barcelona (512 metres above sea level).

It's a must-see! There are many treasures to be found at the top: The Temple of the Sacred Heart, the Tibidabo Amusement Park (one of the oldest in Europe!), the Torre de Collserola and several observation decks that offer the best views of Barcelona, the sea and the surrounding area. We have written about them in detail in this article.

There are several ways to get to the Tibidabo. Obviously, the most comfortable and quickest way is by motorbike or car. But if you are a tourist, you will probably choose public transport. Here we have given you the fastest way to get to Tibidabo.

Metro + funicular + bus

Take metro line S1 or S2 from Plaza Catalunya to Peu del Funicular station

Once off the metro, without leaving the station, take the stairs or lift to Vallvidrera Inferior (Vallvidrera Funicular). The funicular will take you to the upper station of Vallvidrera Superior. The route and stops of the metro lines and the funicular can be seen here.

When you get off the funicular, turn right and literally 5 metres away is the 111 bus stop. This bus will take you to an amusement park and the Tibidabo Temple!

Tickets:

For travel, you can use the T-casual ticket for 10 trips or a single ticket (but it is more advantageous to buy the T-casual ticket).

Despite the seemingly confusing number of transfers, this method is not as complicated as it seems.

Once you've reached the top, it's a good idea to check the timetable for the cable car's return journey so you don't have to wait in vain on the way down.
